Alagator Teodor is a vassal of the Bulgarian Tsardom.
Historical Background[]
Alagator Teodor was a commander of 300 chosen warriors from the royal guard of Tsar Kaloyan, who escorted the relics of St. Philoteya to Tarnovgrad in 1205. St. Philoteya's hagiography calls him "a man reverent and honest, pious and loyal as none other, brave in war and beautiful in stature", and reports that he had a cataract on his left eye, which no doctor could heal, and which was cured by the relics of the saint when he touched them.
